The Advisory Committee for Students with Disabilities (ACSD) will hold its monthly meeting Feb. 9, promptly at 7:30 p.m., at Belle Willard Administrative Center located at 10310 Layton Hall Drive, in Fairfax. There is a public comment period at each meeting, and the public is always welcome. Anyone needing accommodations for a disability in order to attend or participate in this Fairfax County Public Schools activity should call 703-246-7780 or # 711 to access the Virginia Relay TTY service.

South Lakes High School Band Boosters invites you to attend an Auction of Fine Art to be held at Oracle Corporation, 1910 Oracle Way in Reston Saturday, March 5. The preview begins at 7 p.m., with the auction at 8 p.m. Ross Galleries is presenting selections that include original oil paintings, watercolors, limited edition prints, sports memorabilia and decorative art. Minimum bids start as low as $40, with most opening bids between $50 and $150. Wine and cheese will be served. Admission is $12 per person or $20 per couple. Advance ticket purchases preferred. On Feb. 26, The Arc of Northern Virginia in cooperation with the Special Education Parent Resource Centers from Arlington Public Schools, Alexandria City Public Schools and Fairfax, County Public Schools and the Department of Human Services for Arlington County will present a regional workshop about tools that families of individuals with disabilities need to plan for a secure future for their loved ones. Attendees will learn about creating the best lives for children using future life plans, guardianship alternatives, circles of support, trusts/financial plans, and self-determination. The workshop will be held 9 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Department of Human Services Building, Arlington County, 3033 Wilson Blvd., seventh floor, Arlington.
