‘Johnny Appleseed’ Comes to The Alden on Oct. 20
Theatre IV’s production of “Johnny Appleseed” will be presented as part of the McLean Kids Performance Series at The Alden in McLean at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20. Tickets are $15, $10 for McLean tax district residents. The theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue, inside the McLean Community Center.

Boomers Find Answer to Fitness at Senior Centers
Business is booming at Arlington’s six senior centers as more and more 55+ residents register with the Office of Senior Adult Programs and find a wide array of fitness programs available. Several community centers also offer strength training and weight rooms for 55+ only and sports such as pickleball, volleyball and women’s basketball. Ice skating, table tennis, tennis, golf, cycling and line dancing are also offered.

Shepherd’s Center of Oakton-Vienna hosts Bob Levey at luncheon.
Bob Levey’s 37-year career with the Washington Post spanned the eras of Watergate, Desert Storm and the rise of Internet news reporting. For 23 years, Levey wrote Bob Levey’s Washington, a personal look at the region he loves. He shared his experiences on June 10 with guests of Shepherd Center of Oakton-Vienna’s Lunch ‘n’ Life, drawing on anecdotes and perspectives.
