‘Oh My Son’ in McLean
Professional opera to be performed at McLean’s Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.
McLean theatre and opera fans are in for a treat. A highly-acclaimed production of "Oh My Son," a dramatic opera about the life of Jesus, will be performed at McLean’s Lutheran Church of the Redeemer on May 20.
New Bicycle Signs Dedicated in Downtown McLean
Signs placed to aid cyclists and walkers through downtown McLean.
Fairfax County staff joined with bicycling advocates in downtown McLean Thursday, June 20, to celebrate the installation of several bicycle wayfinding signs. The signs give directions to bicyclists and pedestrians throughout downtown McLean to community landmarks such as the McLean Community Center, and W&OD Trail.

Still recovering from a double mastectomy in 1995, Lawson founded the city's annual Walk to Fight Breast Cancer, which celebrated its 17th anniversary Oct. 20 and raised more than $90,000 to fund mammograms and other diagnostic screenings for Alexandria women who are not adequately insured to obtain medical care.

Mount Vernon Obituary: Sook Hee Kim Weidman
Sook Hee Kim Weidman, 67, died of lung cancer on Oct. 17, 2015, at Mount Vernon Hospital in Alexandria. She was born on Oct. 20, 1947 in Kunsan, Korea. She was the youngest of nine children of Young Sang Kim and Hyo Nyo Kwak.
