The eco-warriors carried signs painted with slogans. The Occupiers protested corporate excesses. Scientists, farmers, mayors, business executives, and think tanks — they all came to Rio de Janeiro for two weeks in June to participate in the Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development.
Black Lives Matter Banner in Reston Stolen – Again
The Unitarian Universalist Church in Reston (UUCR) discovered on Thursday, May 20, that the Black Lives Matter banner that they fly at the entrance of their property on a major street in Reston, had been stolen – for the third time in the past year.

I commend Alex McVeigh for his piece on the water contamination issue ("Station Remediation Plan Nears Completion," Great Falls Connection, August 14-20, 2013). My wife and I attended the meeting, which was long (over two hours) and complicated, even tedious and occasionally a bit contentious.
