Home remodeling company embraces community art as novel way to showcase its own design capabilities.
Great Falls Studios, a community arts organization with more than 100 artist members in Great Falls, announced this week that the home remodeling company Sun Design has agreed to sponsor the art group’s Ninth Annual Great Falls Studios Tour, Oct. 20 and 21.

Centreville Man Pleads Guilty to Heroin Distribution
Joseph Gaskins, 25, of Centreville, pleaded guilty on June 11 to distribution of heroin, including a sale that resulted in the death of a 20-year-old Herndon man, according to Attorney General Mark R. Herring and Fairfax County Commonwealth's Attorney Raymond F. Morrogh.

Double, double, toil and trouble; fire burn and caldron bubble. The Robinson High School theatre department, newly named Rambunctious Theatre Company, is changing it up with their fall show: Shakespeare’s “Macbeth.” The show opens Nov. 20 and runs through Nov. 22.
Register with Arlington’s OSAP ASAP
Arlington County’s Office of Senior Adult Programs (OSAP), a unit of the Deptartment of Parks and Recreation, coordinates activities and programs at the County’s six senior centers and several community centers. It also administers a popular 55+ Travel Program. Arlington residents 55 years of age and older can register for a 55+ Pass with the Office of Senior Adult Programs which gives them access to programs at all of the centers plus free access to exercise facilities from 6:25 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Thomas Jefferson Community Center and Barcroft Sports and Fitness Center. They will also receive a bi-monthly, 36-page magazine (55+ Guide) and be eligible to participate in the travel program. The cost is $20 annually.

The highlight of the races was the international division featuring crews from Great Britain, Australia, Canada and the United States. The USA sailboat won the four-race series on the Potomac.
