In five years of selling Christmas trees, St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church in Alexandria has never sold more than this year. According to Ted Boling with the church, they surpassed last year’s numbers by over 40 percent each day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving. “We attribute it to great weather and a great reputation for fresh, full Fraser firs,” he said.

Ten volunteers offered up their Saturday morning to clean up Old Colchester Road in Lorton. The team, which included members of the Mason Neck Lions Club and Civic Association, Del. When Fort Belvoir Elementary School opens in 2016, an expanded campus will provide a base institution for all school-aged children of Fort Belvoir families. Burke United Methodist Church Supports Dominican Republic Mission

Members of Burke United Methodist Church are finishing what they started three years ago in the Dominican Republic. A mission team from the church began working on a house for local clergyman in Sosúa, Pastor Jeremias. During construction, Jeremias died of complications from brain cancer. Funds for the house went to help with the pastor’s medical bills so the building was never completed.
