5th anniversary festival to run Oct. 3 to Dec. 25
One of the region’s premier arts festivals is going virtual for 2020, with Del Ray’s Art on the Avenue kicking off Oct. 3 and running through Dec. 25 in an effort to provide ongoing support to local artists.

This is the second year that the former City Councilman and member of the Virginia House of Delegates has been recognized by the Financial Times.

The entertainment phrase “bringing down the house” held a different meaning this week as the contents of the Old Town Theater were dismantled and auctioned off Oct. 7 after the landmark venue dimmed its marquee lights for good earlier this summer.

The efforts of 115 Mount Vernon Community School students who braved the torrential rains and cold temperatures last Oct. 29 paid off when MVCS was honored Jan. 19 as one of the top five schools that participated in the 2011 Marine Corps Marathon Healthy Kids Fun Run.
