Fairfax Old Town Square Debuting in Style on May 2

The City of Fairfax’s brand-new Old Town Square will make its debut Saturday, May 2, with two special events. First, at 9 a.m., will be the official ribbon-cutting on the City’s new gathering place that features decorative fountains.
Man Charged: Drugs, Weapons Crimes
A Centreville man was among more than 100 people arrested recently as part of a nearly year-long operation by three law-enforcement agencies. He is Kevin Young of Bull Run Post Office Road in Centreville. He was charged with two counts of drug distribution and one count of possessing a firearm while in possession of schedule I or II narcotics. He was arrested Aug. 19, but police didn’t release that information until last week, when they released details of the operation. Participating were officers and detectives with the Fairfax County and Prince William County police departments, plus the Virginia State Police.

The Art Guild of Clifton is hosting the first annual Clifton Plein Air (outdoor) Painting Festival, rain or shine, Saturday-Sunday, June 22-23. That Saturday, concurrent with the Clifton Wine Festival, artists may set up anywhere in the corporate town limits, except for the Town Park, where the wine festival is being held.

Poplar Tree Road Bridge Now Open
The Poplar Tree Road extension and bridge over Route 28 in Chantilly has just opened, connecting Walney and Stringfellow roads on the east side of Route 28 with Stonecroft Boulevard and Westfields Boulevard on the west side.
Fund-Raiser Set for Centreville Boy
Kyle Hahne, 7, is a baseball-loving second-grader at Cub Run Elementary. The Centreville boy is also battling leukemia.
