Melissa Maria Castellanos, 23, of Fairfax County, walked down the runway during the Global Down Syndrome Foundation’s “Be Beautiful Be Yourself Gala” at the Ritz Carlton in D.C. on May 8. Castellanos, who attended the Davis Career Center for two years, works at Wildflour Catering and is a five-time Special Olympics gold medalist. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and “loves her grandma Vita.”
