Market Square is bathed in golden light as Fire Chief Adam Thiel concludes his remarks on remembering September 11, 2001 on Tuesday. Thiel noted that 11 years ago he thought he understand the grief connected with the loss of a co-worker. He went on to say that after the events of the past year here in Alexandria and losing one of his own force his understanding has significantly changed.
