Grandpups with Swedish Roots: Shirley Edwards of Springfield writes: “Gunner and Ammo are my Swedish Vallhund grandpups. Their breed originates in Sweden where they were used as herding dogs by the Vikings. In this photo, I have ‘herded’ them in my arms for a big hug. When they visit me, I hear their happy barks as they arrive at my front door. They enjoy scattering all their toys from their toy basket to find their favorite small, white stuffed poodle. Gunner and Ammo's herding skills are only evident when they rush to knock all the throw pillows from my sofa and push them together in a big pillow pile.”
