“Shave and a haircut two bits,” may be a looney tune but good grooming is serious business in the military. Fairfax resident Jim Debow is a collector of vintage military tools — including this typical shaving kit of a Marine during World War II. Debow’s display includes Blitz Cloth for a quick shine of uniform brass, a sewing kit, a Japanese phrase book and a Zippo windproof lighter. The artifacts were on display Nov. 11 at a Veterans Day appreciation in the MISSION BBQ restaurant at the Greenbriar Town Center.
