Photo detail

This garden at 209 South Saint Asaph St. was professionally redesigned in 2016 and includes gardenias, roses and climbing perennials. The early Victorian home was built by William McVeigh, a prominent merchant and citizen of Alexandria. The facade of the house has remained unchanged as pictured in a Mathew Brady Civil War era photo. The home’s interior is said to be the finest example of Greek revival in Old Town with original Corinthian columns and hand molded plaster work.
