Nicole Baumgartner of FutureMakers, an educational consultant company that trains children to be makers, helps Polina Rady, 7, of Herndon make a 3D print using a process called thermoforming. The process uses heat and a vacuum to stretch softened plastic over a mold. Rady made the mold herself out of different shaped items at the Maker Faire.
