No shrinking violets in this audience. The McNair Elementary students were eager to ask questions, and it was obvious that they already knew quite a bit about the subject and were interesting in expanding on that knowledge. They also were not afraid to ask the difficult questions. “Why did you have slaves?” or “Why did Mr. Henry not agree with the Constitution?”

Students experience the birth of the nation.
It’s a good thing that Thomas Jefferson and Patrick Henry were hardy souls, given the myriad of activities and actions and travelling and time that they both gave to the formation of “these new United States of America,” as our illustrious third President described the union the original thirteen colonies formed in 1776.
