The planned Shirley Gate Road extension would connect the Fairfax County Parkway with Braddock Road. The two circles on the Fairfax County Parkway is where the planned interchange will be located.

Residents question necessity of interchange, extension.
Almost nobody who attended the meeting, with the exception of Fairfax County Department of Transportation representatives and Supervisor Pat Herrity (R-Springfield), thought that the extension project for Shirley Gate Road was necessary.
