On Friday, May 15 at Cherry Run Elementary in Burke, more than 30 special education students participated in an afternoon of baseball, followed by hot dogs and popsicles. The tradition has been going on for 11 years at the 25-year-old school. Players rotated throughout six stations that included batting, fielding, sliding, base-running pitching and cheering. Parents and siblings of the 4- and 5-year-old ballplayers also joined in the festivities.
