Local Artists’ Work Is on Display at The Virginian

Via a partnership with the Fairfax Art League (FAL), The Virginian Senior Living Community is putting the work of local artists on display. Thirteen FAL artists are currently exhibiting 33 diverse pieces of art at The Virginian at 9229 Arlington Blvd. in Fairfax. It’s an eclectic mix of landscapes, abstracts, portraits and other genres spanning a wide gamut of mediums such as oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolors. The exhibition may also be viewed online at https://www.fairfaxartleague.net/the-virginian-exhibition.

The Virginian’s residents actively participate in the exhibition by judging the artwork. They award the “Best in Show” with a $400 prize, as well as two “Honorable Mentions” with $100 each. Art lovers interested in purchasing any of the showcased artwork may do so in person at The Virginian or through FAL’s online store.

The judging and reception for the current exhibit will be held Sunday, Sept. 15, from 3-5 p.m. It’s open to the public, and the artists will be in attendance. Then a new exhibition will go on display Sept. 21 through December, offering fresh and inspiring works for the community to enjoy.
