Beautiful contemporary fashions by designer Sara Campbell in Alexandria were featured at the Yacht Haven Garden Club’s 40th annual Fashion Show and Luncheon, Oct. 16 at the Mount Vernon Country Club. Original designs and beautiful colors were well received by attendees.

The club’s mission is to “provide education, resources, and networking opportunities for its members and promote the love of gardening, floral design, and civic and environmental responsibility.”

Proceeds support the National Capital Area Garden Clubs projects, such as the NCA Scholarship Fund and Friendship Garden and Fern Valley at the National Arboretum. The club contributes to the Honey Bee Project studying the health of bees at the University of Maryland. The club beautifies local sites, such as Sherwood Hall Regional Library and Yacht Haven Estates entrances with seasonal annuals, and more.
