Get ready for fun – the first Rock the Block of the season is happening Friday, May 24, from 6:30-9:30 p.m., at Old Town Square, 10414 North St. in Fairfax City. This rollicking, family-friendly, outdoor music concert also includes food trucks, a beer garden and other vendors.

A free event, Rock the Block runs from now through October on the fourth Friday of each month. The first show, May 24, will feature Perfekt Blend performing a mix of high-energy dance music and ballads. Attendees may bring chairs and blankets to sit on; the only pets allowed are service animals. (If it rains, it’s cancelled).
