At the Park Authority's weekly summer musical event, Evenings on the Ellipse, Kiel Stone, chairman of the Park Authority Board, and Jeff McKay, chairman of the Board of Supervisors, honored the Park Authority's 22 outstanding volunteers for their valuable contributions and dedication.
The recognition occurred at the Fairfax County Government Center on Thursday, July 18, from 5:30 to 7:30. "Our volunteers are the backbone of our efforts to create a more just and accessible park system, making important changes in the field through programs and outreach as opportunities arise. We ask a lot of our volunteers, and they gladly deliver," said Jai Cole, Park Authority executive director.
