A taste of the world is offered to all in Fairfax City – and especially during its upcoming Summer Restaurant Week. Running from Sept. 2-8, this event will highlight the diversity of the City’s restaurants by featuring delicacies and delights from around the globe.

Fairfax City Restaurant Week gives diners the opportunity to experience flavors from Azerbaijan to the Caribbean, China, India, Italy, Ireland, Korea, Peru and other far-flung places. Whether people have a hankering for Gnocchi Marinara, lobster, Tandoori Chicken, fish and chips, pizza, Asian noodle dishes, or shrimp and grits from the American South, they’ll find all these dishes and more in the City’s restaurants.

At least 30 City restaurants will participate, offering prix fixe menus at set prices of $25 for brunch or lunch and $40 for a three-course prix fixe dinner. Some specialty restaurants and food purveyors, such as ViVi Bubble Tea, will also offer two-for-$10 deals.

“Restaurant Week here in Fairfax City continues to grow and become even more inclusive of the local eateries that make our community so unique,” said Fairfax Mayor Catherine Read. “From the fine-dining experience to pizza by the slice, we have something for everyone to try. There is a dish for every palate and an experience for every budget.”

Although Fairfax City has held seven winter restaurant weeks, this is just its third year to offer a summer version. And with such a wide variety of both American and international cuisines, the local restaurateurs are eager to share their offerings with visitors and residents alike.
