Jorge Andres Esquivel Rivera, 27, of Lorton was arrested Oct. 6 by Florida Highway Patrol after Fairfax County Police say he stabbed his mother and fled the commonwealth.
Officers responded to an apartment in the 9200 block of Cardinal Forest Lane in Lorton for a stabbing. The victim was found with stab wounds to the upper body. She was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officers determined the suspect, the victim’s son, fled the area in a vehicle. A lookout was provided to law enforcement partners. Detectives obtained a warrant for Aggravated Malicious Wounding.
Troopers with Florida Highway Patrol found Esquivel Rivera and took him into custody on Oct. 6. Esquivel Rivera will be extradited back to Fairfax County. The victim remains hospitalized.
