At 2:02 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023, Virginia State Police responded to a report of a man lying on the shoulder along the northbound lanes of Interstate 495 near Exit 54 for Braddock Rd. in Fairfax County. The man was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
The Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation's Fairfax Field Office is actively pursuing leads related to the circumstances leading up to the discovery of the 21-year-old Baltimore, Md. male. No vehicle was located near him on I-495.
