Each basket contains two $25 gift cards, Cold Stone Creamery and AMC Theatres; Banana Boat Ultra Sport sunscreen; and the Mattel UNO Dare card game.
"This is incredibly generous," said Meredith Hovan, vice president of resource development at Cornerstones.
According to one of the Rotary volunteers for children, Steve Flannery, several entertainment and business organizations, including MicroSystems Automation Group (MSAG), supported the effort. MSAG is a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business that was one of the corporate sponsors. "(They) helped make this possible by bringing together all of the great things for the kids," Flannery explained.
As Cornerstones transitions from its after-school care program at the Neighborhood Resource Center to its summer Excite program, Hovan said that the baskets would be used as rewards for the children, celebrating the end of the school year.
Each basket contained two $25 gift cards: Cold Stone Creamery and AMC Theatres, Banana Boat Ultra Sport sunscreen, and the Mattel UNO Dare card game. "Our kids are going to be thrilled," Hovan said.
