FCPD reported that a 62-year-old woman had died Sunday, March 13, 2022, from injuries sustained in a crash that occurred March 9.
Officers responded to a crash around 3 p.m. on March 9 in the 8800 block of Georgetown Pike that involved three cars. The driver of a 2020 Audi A5 was traveling west on Georgetown Pike. The driver of a 2005 Nissan Sentra and the driver of a 1991 Toyota MR5 were both traveling east on Georgetown Pike. The driver of the Audi lost control of his car, crossed the double yellow line, and hit the Nissan head-on. The Audi then spun into the path of the Toyota, resulting in the Toyota rear-ending the Audi.
The driver of the Audi was treated for injuries at the scene. The driver of the Toyota was taken to the hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening. The driver of the Nissan, Karla Boggess, of Berryville, was taken to the hospital and succumbed to her injuries four days after the crash.
