Tree lighting in Del Ray.
LIGHTING UP DEL RAY – Retiring Sheriff Dana Lawhorne led the countdown to the lighting of the 30-foot-tall Christmas tree Dec. 5 at Pat Miller Square in Del Ray. Hundreds flocked to the holiday event which included the lighting of a menorah. Lawhorne, a lifelong resident of Del Ray, thanked the crowd for their support during his time in law enforcement. “Thank you for 43 years of supporting me. I’ve loved every minute of it.”
