Homicide Suspect Arrested

A man has been arrested in connection with the homicide that occurred on Dec. 30. Jeremiah Mouzon, 20, of Centreville, faces charges of 2nd degree murder, malicious shooting and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Detectives from the Major Crimes Bureau worked extensively to identify the suspect. Once identified, detectives from Fugitive Unit then began tracking the suspect’s whereabouts. Detectives coordinated with the Prince George’s County Police Department and the suspect was safely taken into custody. Mouzon will remain in the custody of the Prince George’s Department of Corrections until he is extradited back to Fairfax County.

Two people were shot in a residential neighborhood early the morning of Dec. 30. Officers initially responded to the 7900 block of Sausalito Place around 2:30 a.m. for a report of a person that was shot and found Kamren Quick, 18, of Alexandria, outside suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers removed Quick to a nearby safe area for treatment by members of our Fire and Rescue Department. He was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries that were later determined to be not life threatening.

Officers also found Jayden Quick, 20, of Alexandria, dead inside a home from an apparent gunshot wound. They do not believe this was a random act of violence.

Victim specialists from our Major Crimes Bureau’s Victim Services Division have been assigned to ensure that the family is receiving appropriate resources and assistance.

This is the 14th homicide year-to-date in Fairfax County.
