Arlene Burstrom celebrates her 80th birthday Saturday, Sept. 14 with family, friends and neighbors, including three daughters (from left) Charlene Brubaker, Michele Spear and Amy Kaetzel and two of her grandchildren, Connor and Sydney. Both generations attended Jamestown Elementary, Williamsburg Middle School and Yorktown High School. "What a blessing," she says. Burstrom remembers getting ready for her wedding to Sheldon "Burt" Burstrom and welcoming her grandmothers at her apartment near Pershing and Route 50 in November, 1961. She moved to her current residence, formerly the original Walker Chapel United Methodist Church, in 1964. After returning from a birthday trip to Quebec, Burstrom will get back to her regular schedule at Sitapet, where she has worked for over 30 years.
