On Nov. 14, there was a festive celebration marking the 10th Anniversary of the opening of the Leed Gold certified Nature House in Reston’s Walker Nature Education Center. About 75 people were present at the event sponsored by the nonprofit Friends of Reston, which raised the funds needed to build this environmental icon of Reston. The Board of the Friends of Reston is pictured in front of the wall of honor naming all those who contributed to the construction of the iconic Nature House. At far left is Carol Nahorniak, President of the Friends Board, and next to the far right end in front is Katy Shaw, Executive Director of the Friends, and Reston Association’s Manager of Nature House, which is located in the Walker Nature Center.
