Earlier last week, community members joined Fairfax County Dranesville Supervisor John Foust, Virginia Del. Kathleen Murphy (D-34) and other officials to celebrate the completion of the Baron Road Walkway in McLean. This new pedestrian facility includes 400 linear feet of concrete sidewalk that ties into the existing pedestrian facilities near Douglass Drive and the Dead Run Trail. Other infrastructure improvements include a curb and gutter, curb ramps, driveway entrances, pavement modifications, closed drainage system. These improvements enhance vehicle and pedestrian safety.
Students from Churchill Road Elementary School participated in the ceremony. One of those students, Audrey Stover, spoke at the event. She had previously met with Supervisor Foust to talk about how safety would be improved with the addition of a sidewalk along Baron Road.
