Reston Hospital Center (RHC) is being recognized by Healthgrades as a 2019 Patient Safety Excellence Award recipient. This award recognizes the nation’s top hospitals for patient safety, those hospitals providing excellent performance in safeguarding patients from serious, potentially preventable complications during their hospital stay.
The 460 recipient hospitals for the Patient Safety Excellence Award represent the Top 10 percent of hospitals in the nation for patient safety, and those hospitals that are putting the patient at the center of care and doing all they can to ensure their safe care.
During the study period (2015 to 2017), RHC and other Healthgrades recipient hospitals demonstrated excellent performance in safety provided for patients in the Medicare population, as measured by objective outcomes (risk-adjusted patient safety indicator rates) for 14 patient safety indicators defined by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).
