Animal Protection Police Officers are asking for the public’s help to find the owners or determine how a young female pit bull ended up in a non-residential area of Lorton. Officers were called to the 9500 block of Gunston Cove Road on June 18 for a dog who appeared to be injured and was walking alone. The pit bull appeared to be weak, malnourished and had several scars on her front legs. She was mild mannered with officers and seems to be well socialized. Her ears and tail are not cropped and it appears that she has bred before.
Anyone who has information about this dog or how she may have gotten to this location in Lorton is asked to contact Officer Higginbotham at 571-641-7245.
