The lineup of activities attracted thousands of people ready for a night of fun at Bready Park in the Town of Herndon on the 4th of July. There was live music, food trucks, Bingo, arts and crafts, yard games, and of course the mesmerizing lure of fireworks.
As dusk fell, families and friends spread out blankets and set up chairs on the grassy lawns in the park and along Ferndale Avenue. As advertised, right at 9:30, the first rocket whistled upwards and exploded into shimmering splatters of light. The display lasted more than 20 minutes and ended with the traditional shower of lights, crashing booms, and little children asking over and over, "Is that the end?"
