The Chantilly Chargers traveled 4.9 miles west on Route 50 to take on a familiar foe, the Westfield Bulldogs on Jan. 16.
The home team opened the 1st quarter with 17 points while holding Chantilly to 12.
In the 2nd quarter Chantilly would narrowly edge Westfield 21-20 giving the home team a 37-33 advantage to start the 3rd quarter .
In the 3rd quarter Chantilly would hold the Bulldogs to just 8 points and scored 18.
The 4th quarter would see Westfield again outscore Chantilly 17-14, but the game would not be secured until Kendall McHugh converted two free throws with 4.3 seconds left to seal the 65-62 win for the Chargers.
The Chargers improved to (9-7) and were led by McHugh who scored a game high 22 points, and teammate Jon Tammaro added another 14. Westfield (8-6) was led by Jordan Hairston who scored 15 points and Marshall Reed's 11.
