James V. Tanzillo, 76, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 at the Roy and Margaret Halquest Capital Caring Hospice in Arlington, with his family by his side. Born in Trenton and raised in Morrisville, Pa., he resided in Bordentown for more than 30 years, then in Southport, N.C. and most recently in McLean. Jim graduated from Western Carolina University, the College of New Jersey and was a doctoral candidate at Rutgers University. He was a retired school teacher, having taught at Bordentown Regional High School and the Burlington County Institute of Technology, and was a supervisor with the New Jersey State Penal System.
Predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Louise Tanzillo and his sister, Theresa Borinsky, he is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Trudy Cauthen Tanzillo, his children Jimmy, Scott and Amy, and grandchildren Lucian, Lennon and Lex.
A life-time member of the Knights of Columbus, Jim was active in Holy Trinity (Morrisville, Pa.), St. Mary’s (Bordentown, N.J.) and St. Luke’s (McLean) parishes.
