During a proclamation celebrating Earth Day and Arbor Day at the April 11 City Council meeting, the council also took a moment to celebrate Alexa Lopez, a fourth grade student at Lyles-Crouch Traditional School and winner of the competition to pick an art design for the event.
Alexandria’s Earth Day celebration will be held on April 28 at Lenny Harris Memorial Fields at Braddock Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will have educational exhibits, demonstrations, and hands-on activities celebrating nature. The event will also host food trucks providing food and beverages for sale.
