Caroline Brunner, a junior at McLean High School, was awarded her Girl Scout Gold Award at a ceremony on May 13 at Trinity College in Washington, D.C. Sports columnist Christine Brennan was the keynote speaker. The Gold Award is the highest achievement in Girl Scouting, recognizing girls who demonstrate extraordinary leadership through projects which can be sustained within their community. Caroline's project is Music Connection, which connects student musicians with seniors in the McLean community through a series of concerts held at local retirement and assisted living facilities. Music can help stimulate the memory and has wonderful effects on the mind. See www.musicconnectionproject.org
