Claude Moore Colonial Farm family and other Virginia colonists will host the Summer Colonial Market Fair on Saturday and Sunday, July 15 & 16, 11 a.m.– 4:30 p.m. at 6310 Georgetown Pike, McLean. Games, children’s activities, music and educational demonstrations such as the blacksmith, spinning, candle-making and splitting rails. See the heritage breed animals on site including Ossabow pigs, Devon cows, chickens and wild turkeys. Enjoy food and beverage available for purchase including spit-roasted chicken, meat and potato pies, sausages, seasonal vegetables, cheeses and breads, roasted olives.
Desserts featured are rhubarb, pecan and chess pies as well as fresh pineapple and watermelon. The Colonial Tavern offers beer and ale, hard cider, wine, lemonade and authentic ginger ale.
