Mount Vernon — Officers arrested a 40-year-old man from Alexandria who was wanted for malicious wounding, use or display of a firearm while committing a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in relation to the Dec. 27, shooting in the 3800 block of Miramonte Place. The suspect was arrested without incident and will be taken to the Adult Detention Center where the warrants will be served.
Police initially responded to a call for one man chasing another and shooting at him with a handgun. The victim was wounded by a bullet that grazed his leg. He was treated at the scene by Fairfax County Fire and Rescue personnel.
