The Madison High varsity ice hockey team is playoff bound with their 3-1 win over division rivals the Yorktown Patriots. The Warhawks were outshot 35 to 21, however quality over quantity was the theme for the evening. Goals were scored by forwards Luke Pohlman (2) and Jeff Hunter. Assist came from Keegan Sweeney, Kamron Sarmadi and Luke Pohlman. Goalie Dean Kern turned away all but one shot. Both Kamron Sarmadi and Dean Kern were named to the 2017 Northern Virginia Scholastic Hockey League (NVVSHL) All-Star team.
