Chairman Bulova Statement on U.S. Park Police Shooting

— On Monday, Dec. 4, Sharon Bulova, Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, released the following statement after a press conference hosted by the Fairfax County Police Department:

“The Nov. 17, 2017 U.S. Park Police shooting, which resulted in the tragic death of Fairfax County resident, Bijan C. Ghaisar, is currently under investigation by the FBI. Fairfax County Police officers were at the scene and did not fire their weapons. They are considered witnesses to this shooting. All of us in Fairfax County, especially the family and friends of Bijan, deserve to know what happened. I support our Police Chief’s urging for the FBI to release the in-car video once FBI interviews have concluded. This investigation needs to happen swiftly and thoroughly, and justice must be served.”
