The Alexandria Chamber of Commerce will host the 31st annual Valor Awards April 26, honoring first responders from the Alexandria Police Department, Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department.

This year’s Valor Awards will recognize 21 public safety personnel, including three Bronze Medal recipients: Deputy Valarie Wright, Deputy Charlie Winstead and Deputy Fire Marshal Joseph Zarkauskas. Other awards, presented in recognition of actions above and beyond the call of duty, include the Lifesaving Award and the Certificate of Valor.

Aaron Gilchrist of News4Today will emcee the event, which will take place at 11:30 a.m. at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Old Town and is open to the public. For tickets or more information visit www.alexchamber.com.
