Herndon — Effective Monday, April 17, multiple areas on the first floor of the Herndon-Monroe Garage will temporarily close to through traffic, resulting in new traffic patterns for slug line and kiss and ride users. The effort is part of the county’s preparation for Metro’s Silver Line Phase II expansion. Construction is scheduled to conclude by June 9.
In a separate effort, the elevator at Herndon-Monroe Parking Garage will be out of service April 24-27 to install new doors.
The Fairfax County Department of Transportation advises patrons to use caution during construction and be on the lookout for new traffic patterns to ensure safety for all this spring.
