Clerk of the Circuit Court Edward Semonian administered the oath of office on Monday, Aug. 29, to the Alexandria Sheriff's Office’s new recruits in a courtroom ceremony. Sheriff Dana Lawhorne congratulated the deputies and asked family members to join him as he presented their badges, and Commonwealth’s Attorney Bryan Porter also addressed the recruits. The new deputies started their formal training later that same day.
