Del Ray held its 20th Annual Halloween parade and post-parade party on Oct. 30. Hosted by the Del Ray Business Association, the festivities included witches, wizards, zombies, revelers and pets in tutus.
Crowds assembled along Mount Vernon Avenue to watch the parade and meandered to the Mt. Vernon Recreation Center where City Council members and officials presented best costume awards and special recognitions.
“This event exemplifies the best of Del Ray,” said Bill Blackburn, president of the association’s executive committee. In addition to free party food and cash awards, recycled Halloween costumes were collected and made available to children in need.
