Girl Scout Cadette, Alessandra (“Ally") DelDonna, recently earned her Silver Award. Ally, a seventh grade student at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Alexandria, has been a Girl Scout since first grade. The Silver Award is the highest honor a Girl Scout Cadette can earn.
Her Take Action Project was to help cancer patients and their families cope while undergoing treatment. Ally collaborated with the Alexandria chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society before creating her booklet as she wanted to learn more about their programs. Ally created and printed, “Fight the Fight,” a booklet filled with inspirational quotes, poems, artwork, patient survivor stories, and information about LLS. These booklets will be included in LLS’s new patient care packages.
