UpCycle Creative Reuse Center, a local Alexandria nonprofit, has moved to the Durant Arts Center, 1605 Cameron St. The new space has free parking, is handicap accessible and is located within a block of the King Street Metro.
UpCycle’s mission is to promote and support artistic expression, experiential learning, environmental awareness and community engagement through the collection and redistribution of reusable materials. UpCycle is a community resource for second hand arts and crafts supplies where the organization also promotes and facilitates creative reuse.
UpCycle collects, organizes and preps items for use in a variety of creative capacities. Materials include fabrics and sewing notions, various papers and boards, wood bits, office supplies and artists supplies.
