Herndon Crime Reports

Detectives obtained video of the vehicle they believed to be involved in the series of tire and rim thefts that have occurred since February. The vehicle was seen on April 3 in the 12800 block of Shadow Oak Lane in Fairfax around the time of the theft that occurred in that location. The vehicle appears to be a silver 2011 to 2015 Ford Explorer SUV.

MAJOR INCIDENTS

Sexual Assault - May 2, 400-blk Herndon Parkway. The victim reported that she was sexually assaulted by a person known to her. The case is under investigation.

Robbery - Commercial, May 4, 1100-blk Crestview Drive. Three suspects entered a business, displayed a handgun and knife, and demanded money. The victim was not injured. Cash and property valued at less than $100 was taken. The case is under investigation.

Burglary - May 6, 100-blk Elden Street. A business was entered overnight while it was unoccupied, by unknown suspects. Property and cash amounting to $3,700

Burglary - May 6, 800-blk Elden Street. A residence was entered during the day while it was unoccupied, through an unlocked front door, by unknown suspects. Property and cash amounting to $3,500 was taken. The case is under investigation.

Crime Prevention Awareness

Over the past few months the Town has experienced an increase in Larceny from Motor Vehicle, and Vehicle Tampering cases. In these type of cases suspects are looking for vehicles which are left unlocked. Even when parking in your own driveway, you are reminded to always lock your vehicle, and remove high value items.
