More than 4,500 people attended the eighth-annual City of Fairfax Easter Egg Hunt at Van Dyke Park and the Sherwood Community Center on Saturday, March 26. Sponsored by Combined Properties, the Egg Hunt was divided into three age categories: ages 2-4, 5-7, and 8-10, and included other recreational games. Some of the city vendors were Paint Your Own Pottery, Inside Scoop ice cream and Doug the Food Dude.

"As you know, we put on great events in the City of Fairfax and today was no exception," said Mayor Scott Silverthorne. "This is the largest turnout we've had. I even brought in six of my great nieces and nephews. We know how to put on great events in the City of Fairfax."

"This is huge; this is enormous," said Jo Ormesher, Cultural Tourism and Marketing director for the City of Fairfax. "It's so exciting to see all these families today out having fun. This is the biggest number we've ever had; I've never seen as many people as this."

"It's a fabulous event and one we're pleased to be associated with. It really serves the Fairfax community," said Linda Dreyer of Combined Properties, which operates four shopping centers in the City of Fairfax.

"Thanks to Combined Properties, the numbers have exceeded our expectations. It's a wonderful family event with lots of things to do for free," said Cathy Salgado, director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Fairfax.
